Boating with the Hills

Last Saturday we went boating with our friends the Hills.

It was my first time going boating for the season and had high hopes for an awesome day but was greatly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the company was great -

but as far and me and actually skiing....it was a flop.
Notice how I'm not up...I learned how to slalom several years ago and since I learned I've never had to try more than 3 times to actually get up and have a great run. This was not the case however this past weekend. I tried probably 10 times and NEVER got up. I was so discouraged. I don't know what my deal was. No worries - I will remedy this situation by the end of the summer.

Here is Jeff skiing...

And Brianne skiing....
And Jonathan skiing....
and of course my 54 year old dad showed us all up.

I only made it up on the kneeboard. Oh well - all in all it was a fun day and I'll take boating (even without getting up) over not going boating.

Happy Father's Day!

My dad is a wonderful father and it was great to go and spend Father's Day with him yesterday. As a gift for my dad, my sisters and I decided to get him a Webcam. He is a first time grandpa as of about 2 months ago and his grandson is living in Maryland. We thought a Webcam would be a perfect gift so he could see his grandson more frequently.

Although it sounded like a perfect idea we worried that my dad would not embrace the Webcam because he is easily discouraged and frustrated with computers. We took a chance though and went ahead and got him a Logitech Webcam.

I had him open a present that held a note that told him to go into his office.

Once there, he read an email from Anderson (his grandson - even though it was really written by my sister) that included a bunch of pictures. We talked about how neat it was that technology allowed Wendy to take pictures and share them with us in the same day.

Then, I closed the email and there was Anderson, LIVE!

At first, my dad was confused and thought it was a video that he had already seen...

but after we explained to him it was live and there was a camera on top of his computer he LOVED IT! He totally embraced it and learned how to start a web call and had so much fun talking to Anderson.

Here he is showing Anderson his bald spot...

All in all...I think it was a success!

Orem Summerfest

This weekend our friends Aaron and Stacey invited us to go to the Orem City Summerfest Parade. It was lots of fun with everything a parade should have...
There were lots of people

Fire trucks

Floats (and a little shout out to from Pay-town)

Missionaries

and good friends.

Jonathan and Aaron got ties too!

Good Bye Natalie

When I got married, I went from having 0 nieces and 0 nephews to inheriting a total of 20 nieces and nephews. It's still a little weird to think that I am "Aunt" to 20 people. It's even more weird to think that one of them is only 2 1/2 years younger than me and entered the MTC yesterday to serve in Lima, Peru.

GOOD BYE NATALIE - We'll miss you!

I must however note that as almost 2 months ago I am a first time aunt on my side of the family. I love this kid SO much and I've never even met him...only 20 days until I do though!

Cutest baby boy Anderson!

SCHOOL'S OUT...and I'm done

School ended last week! It's crazy to think that I just finished my second year. This year went by so much faster than last year. Thursday (the 30th) we had Field Day which basically means the kids play games outside and my only responsibility was to blow a fog horn when it was time to rotate. It was a great day. I left right after lunch (it was only a half day) and Jonathan and I headed to St. George for the weekend.

Tuesday of this week I went back to my class room and cleaned everything up and covered everything up (so my books and other stuff on my shelves won't get dusty). I'm so happy I don't have to move againt this year. My plan is to return on June 11th to get my print orders ready and then I hope to not return until August.

Ugly orange wall...huh

It's much easier to stack "desks" when you only have 4 tables :)

We've Joined

Well, Jonathan and I finally broke down and joined the blogosphere. I'm not entirely sure how to do all of this but I have all summer to learn. Mostly I felt I needed to get a blog set up now because before too long, blog addresses will become like email addresses and all the good ones will be taken. I didn't want to be left with something stupid like "jonathanali15986325874". We'll see how this goes.
